In this reporting period (July 2005 to January 2006) the Association’s success included:

  • The distribution of 23 support packages (with food and hygienic items) to association members living in the Sarajevo municipality of Ilijaš (the village of Bioča) and 40 packages to members in Bratunac, as well as 20 computers for home use to members. The support packages and computers were donated by the German organization Unterstutzung Osteruropa e. V.
  • Medical rehabilitation in the spa Aquaterm in Olovo for 55 members with support from the Ministry for War Victims.
  • Acquisition of alternative accommodation for 7 members while their homes were under construction through the help of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs.
  • Secured health insurance for 7 members.
  • The distribution of 25 support packages and 20 packages of school supplies, donated by the Canadian SFOR (peacekeeping forces).
  • The distribution of medicine for members and access to psychological support through the cooperation (products and services donated) by the local Center for Torture Victims.
  • Acquired monthly support for another 5 members (US $50 monthly) from the Society for Threatened People in Sarajevo.
  • Acquired 130 massage treatments for members through the donation of the Healing Hands Network, an English NGO.
  • Acquired pensions for 7 members with assistance from the Institute for Evaluation of Work Ability.
  • Finalized the status of civil war victims for 15 women rape victims with the involvement of the Commission for Admission.
  • Acquired scholarships for 3 Association members, in addition to clothing and hygienic supply donations from Education Builds Bosnia, a Bosnian NGO.

In this reporting period (September 2004 to July 2005) the Association success included:

  • The Ministry of Refugees donated material for house reconstruction for 3 members in Rogatica, Bosanski Šamac and Višegrad.
  • The Canadian SFOR (peacekeeping forces) donated 45 support packages.
  • The Society for Threatened People in Sarajevo donated monthly support for 8 members valued at US $50.
  • The Healing Hands Network, and English NGO donated 75 massage treatments for members.
  • Education Builds Bosnia, a Bosnian NGO supplied medicine for members and donated psychological support services.
  • The Ministry of Work and Social Affairs provided allocation of alternative accommodation for 5 women while their homes were under construction.
  • An Austrian organization provided apartments for 7 women who were unable to return to their pre-war homes in eastern Bosnia.
  • Health insurance was secured for 7 members.
  • The German organization Unterstutzung Osteruropa e. V provided 183 support packages (with food and hygienic items) to members living in Sarajevo, 40 packages for members in Goražde, and 80 packages for members in Bratunac. They also donated 2 computers with printers for our municipal organizations in Ilijaš and Vogošća.

In this reporting period (January 2003 to September 2004) the Association success included:

  • With the assistance of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the association managed to postpone the eviction of 38 members.
  • With assistance from the Ministry for War Veterans, 28 members received donations for the reconstruction of their house in Ilijaš and Ahatovići.
  • The Ministry for Refugees donated material for house reconstruction for 7 members in Ahatovići.
  • The American Refugee Committee (ARC) donated material for house reconstruction for 8 members in Ahatovići. ARC also generously donated furniture for our office in Sarajevo.
  • The German SFOR donated school supplies for 60 pupils and 300 hygienic support packages.
  • The Italian SFOR donated 130 support packages.
  • The Canadian SFOR donated 110 support packages.
  • The Society for Threatened Peoples, Sarajevo gave monthly support of US $50 to 8 members.
  • The Healing Hands Network donated 140 massage treatments for to members.
  • The Ministry Resource Network Inc. donated 80 support packages.
  • Education Builds Bosnia donated 30 beds and small donations of school supplies and hygienic items.
  • The Center for Torture Victims refunded bills for medicine for members.
  • Through the assistance of the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs, allocation of alternative accommodation from the Canton was supplied on the basis that the members were unable to return to their pre-war housing due to the appalling crimes committed against the members in these locations.
  • The German organization Unterstutzung Osteruropa e. V provided 448 support packages (with food and hygienic items), including torture survivors from Goražde (30 packages) and Bratunac (48 packages), school supplies for 30 pupils in Sarajevo, as well as 5 computers for use as school computers.
  • Other achievements include: one case in court; two cases that managed to secure electrical connection to houses of members; the securing of health insurance for 12 members and etc.
